How Interview Practice works

Your email and mobile number are hidden from the AI

Before anything is sent to the AI, every email address and phone number in your resume, the job description and your interview answers is replaced with [email hidden] and [phone hidden]. The AI never sees your contact details.

1. Upload

• Upload your resume and the job description as PDF, DOCX or TXT, or paste the text. Scanned resumes and images are read with OCR.
• Your resume must show your email address and mobile number. We read them on our server (not with AI) to keep track of your free tries and to create your login.
• Choose a difficulty: Light (5 questions), Medium (7) or Hard (10), and turn on Voice mode if you want a spoken interview.

2. Resume report

• An ATS score (how well applicant tracking systems can read your resume) and a job match score, both out of 10.
• Keywords from the job that your resume has, and the ones it's missing, plus suggestions.
• ATS resume prompt: copy it into Claude, Gemini or ChatGPT to get a rewritten, ATS-friendly resume as a Word file. It includes a tagline under your name and blank spaces for your email, phone, LinkedIn and portfolio. Use a tool that can create files, such as Claude or ChatGPT.

3. Interview

• Text mode: answer one question at a time; you can go back and edit before submitting.
• Voice mode: Alex asks each question out loud and listens. Pause when you finish speaking. You can say "Can you repeat that?", "Skip this one" or "End the interview". Use Chrome or Edge, allow the microphone, and wear headphones.

4. Results

• An overall score out of 100, feedback on every answer, an improved version of each answer, and likely questions with sample answers.
• Download everything as a PDF, or use Practise again for a new set of questions.

Free tries and your account

• You get 3 free tries without an account. They are counted per resume and per device.
• After that, log in. Your username is the email on your resume and your password is the mobile number on your resume (digits only).
• New accounts must be activated before you can continue. Please contact Raniya to get access.
• Once activated, you get 10 chances in 30 days. Each new resume analysis or “Practise again” uses one chance. When the days pass or the chances run out, access stops; contact Raniya to renew it. Your home page and profile show how many chances and days you have left.
• Have your own Gemini API key? Add it in Profile to keep practising without waiting for activation and without limits. It's stored encrypted and only used for your interviews. You can get a free key from Google AI Studio.
• For your security, change your username and password in Profile after your first login.
• After 5 wrong passwords for an account (or 20 from one network), logging in is blocked for up to 1.5 hours.
• Once logged in, you can only practise with your own resume (its email and mobile must match your account).

What we keep

• Your interviews and reports are stored only in your browser session and disappear when you close the browser. Download the PDF to keep them.
• To run free tries and accounts fairly, we keep your email, mobile number, how many times you've used the app, and the IP address and device you used.
